Hi Elder George,

I enjoyed the piece you sent to me about the jackass society and about the she-ass even though I am not on your e-mail list.

Sometimes I think you have the attitude and knowledge of a certain type of man. A certain type that stands up from not a selfish point of view but from a view where a man sees not only what his children and wife are going through but his brothers and sisters, his grandchildren, his neighbour, his shop keeper, his tribe and his culture.

I wish sometimes people understood that women can't do much because when this type of man stands he doesn't share the platform with women. He is a strange man to many modern women because there is nothing to be equal to. He just does what a man does. He takes the bull by the horns and makes decisions. He doesn't need a woman to tell him how it is for he already knows. He won't even care if a woman gets it for he just knows what he has to do.

I have tried to talk to such men. Made appointments to visit them but for some strange reason every time my appointment comes up, he can't make it. No apology, no phone call to make another date and time, just a no show.

I realized this was a message in itself. And I understood when the secretaries themselves told me, "You need to be careful when you talk to these men, for they are men's men".

They are not bad men, no, not at all .... just the opposite. Their whole life reflects who they are. They don't command respect and they don't ask. They just do what needs to be done and all fall in line behind them. It is quite a remarkable thing to witness and be a part of.

These men don't lead women; these men lead societies. They have the ability to shut down all politics for as you say, "Political divide divides".

And yet they respect women's work. They respect women. And if they don't respect you then you haven't shown yourself worthy of their respect. No, "she did or he did", just she did and she deserves respect for what she did.

I have extreme faith in these men and stand wherever they want me to for the good of myself and for my offspring.

What you propose is along time down the track from where we are in reality. In New Zealand a staggering 78 percent of Maori babies are born to unmarried mothers and 35 percent to non-Maoris.

Thank you for your thought provoking messages. I appreciate your insight.

You often say that we need to do something, but I am unsure what I should do to help rebuild society besides what I already do every day. Support my husband and raise my children. I am a stay at home mother of two little girls and am striving to feed our family real food, teach them what is right and wrong, how to work and be industrious, and the many other things. As a family we choose not to participate in the unnatural lifestyle that the US embraces. I try to speak, act, and look feminine and encourage other women to embrace their femininity. I am not “normal” either, and I don’t know how I can help change the current trends except refuse to participate and support it.

Is that the call to action that you mean? Simply refusing to participate in an unnatural lifestyle? I’m afraid that only a minority of people will actually do this, so how can we live naturally in a world of enslavement? What action do you hope to inspire in your readers when you encourage us to action?

Elder George

I just wanted to let you know that I am a woman who very much appreciates and agrees with your teachings.

I was a very good student in school and my teachers thought I would be a doctor or a lawyer. All I ever wanted to be was a devoted wife and mother. I met a wonderful man and we were married when I was only 20 years old

We have six children now. Recently my husband said to me " you are able to be such a wonderful woman because of me. Since I take such good care of you , you are able to remain feminine unlike so many women that I meet"

I replied that my being such a woman has made him a better man also and he agreed.

I have all sorts of educated friends, but most of them come to me for advice about the really important things, family and children. This past summer I was with a group of friends from long ago. One of the women said that she had expected me to be a famous scientist by now. The group of men said in unison " why would she want to do that"

I am 45 years old and in general am extremely respected by men that I know and less respected by women.

I did and I loved it. You are so gifted at writing.

I am planning on purchasing copies for my closest friends. I have a party planned for Feb next year and want to give them all a copy at the party. I was also hoping that you would be kind enough to sign them? I plan to place the order in the new year after Christmas.

I am 41. I had a high status career (although I never really wanted it) and my husband and I have decided that I will stay at home and raise our son. Working in such a competitive environment was not very fulfilling in the end and I have seen the young women that I worked around become less and less feminine and more and more aggressive over the years. I found it all deeply concerning and I don't see myself ever going back. I also went out with a group of female friends for the evening last year and they spent the whole evening bad mouthing their husbands/boyfriends. I challenged their uncaring attitude and it was amazing to see them change their views so quickly. Even more amazing to me was how this attitude has permeated into so many of my female friends and acquaintances thoughts unchallenged.

I have one other friend who has now given up her job in order to be a mother full time. Almost all of the other women I speak to want to give up work but feel unable to make the financial sacrifice. It is all rather sad.

Since I read your book I have also chatted to my male friends. I was so saddened to learn from all of them that they have 'given up talking to women'. Their reasons, women are aggressive, critical, impossible to please etc., It is very humbling to hear that and if only more women knew what men thought I am sure many would be surprised and would change their attitude.

My husband is going to read the book next. He is looking forward to reading it.

I don’t know anything about Dr. Emerson other that what is written here, and I imagine he has his share of shortcomings that caused him to end up in this untenable position for an extended period; he has his karma to work out as we all do. However, regardless of Dr. Emerson’s ability, inadequacies, and temperament, what is significant is the unrelenting, dispassionate, uncaring, and dehumanizing conduct of those who enforce the onerous laws in the American family court system. From what I hear from others similar laws exist throughout the Western world.

As you read through this saga perhaps you will realize that suppressive government is already well entrenched at the local, state, and national levels. All that is necessary for it to grow is for men to continue to do nothing.

Doing something is not working within the system that created these family suppressive laws, but working outside of the system away from its influence.

Men’s Action offers an alternative way of life. Please read our mission statement, invest in the information materials that we offer and start making efforts to reestablish a more natural way of life for humankind.

VIDEO SERIES—THE NATURAL WOMAN

I have launched an extensive video series aimed at the mental, physical, and spiritual health of the modern Western woman entitled The Natural Woman. As explained in my essay Newsweek – There Are No Sex Differences, Western society is mutating. Men’s Rights Organizations and conservatives have devoted their efforts to attacking women and defending the system whereas efforts need to be spent on protecting women and attacking the system that has caused the emasculation of men and the resultant mental, physical, and spiritual dysfunction of women.

The pollution of the air, water, food, and thinking causes these mutations along with the unnatural lifestyle these pollutants cause us to live.

The series will touch on the issues affecting women, but many of these same issues affect men as well, such as the Western penchant for strenuous exercise.

I have asked my good friend Dr. Phil Valentine author of the book The Wounded Womb if he would write a few articles to support these videos. He made no commitment for the future but he did send me an article that is posted under Member Editorial and which addresses effects of the Western obsession for strenuous exercise. The article is titled Exercise – Exertion – Excitement, (Exhaustion by any other name). I recommend this article to both men and women.

The mission statement of Men’s Action calls for fostering a more natural way of life for humankind. Strenuous exercise, unnatural dietary practices, and a highly stimulated social environment do not constitute a natural way of life. Dr. Valentine’s article gives us the opportunity to address that neglected segment of our mission statement.

I ask that you continually promote our website to all whom you come in contact with. Each new subscriber acts as another vehicle through which our message can be expressed.

SPREADING THE WORD

Have you wondered what causes great success at the movie box office? What influences a disproportionate share of the public to spend their money on ever increasing ticket prices to see a movie? We tend to feel that advertising and promotion motivate the public to go and see the movie, and these venues do have an effect on theater attendance but they are not the major influence.

The major influence is not even what the public perceives to be a “good” movie, although it is the second most important factor. The major influence is communicating their satisfaction to others. If they like the move they tell their family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and associates. High movie attendance, like the successful sale of any product is a function of word-of-mouth communication. People want to share a good thing. They spread the word.

As a reader and possible subscriber to this website I trust that you feel that we have a “good” product. I ask that you spread the word by sharing your satisfaction with others. If others like our website they might decide to subscribe to it, to invest in my book and information materials, and to become active in some way. I also ask that you review my videos on youtube, which can be found under the heading mensaction or patriarchy.

I will begin an extensive youtube video series beginning this week. If you subscribe on youtube you will receive these videos automatically.

Our internet presence has grown significantly and the number of subscribers to our website continues a slow but steady growth. Now is the time to increase our presence on youtube.com. You can be the major force in our expansion by subscribing to our videos through youtube and motivating others to do so.

LOOKING FOR FANATICS

To all hands,

On this pleasant and sunny July 4th morning I sat at my desk and reflected on the evolvement of Men’s Action since its inception and the progress that has been made.

Many men’s rights organizations (MRO) were formed before and after I wrote my book, and while I have never referred to our activities as part of the MRO movement; nevertheless, we do share a commonality of interest. Members of these various organizations recognized the malfunctioning of society especially as it encroached upon the activities, responsibilities, and domain of men. Men felt they had lost their rights and ultimately formed organizations that would become known as MRO’s.

In reviewing a list of MRO’s I noticed that most of them have become defunct, and those few that still exist have become dormant or ineffective. In speaking to a man recently who has been active with five different MRO’s for more than 20 years I indicated to him that in all that time he had not created an active following and that he had little to show for his efforts. He felt that he could say the same about me, which I thought was a fair response. It acted as part of the catalyst that caused my reflections this morning. Even some of my supporters have questioned if Men’s Action is little more than Elder George hammering out occasional essays and posting them on the Men’s Action website. Those questions, concerns, and doubts motivated me to write this response this morning.

Some of the activities that I engaged in since the writing of my book 17 years ago were: the hosting of a weekly public access TV series in Manhattan for nine years; writing as a paid weekly columnist for seven ethnic newspapers; lecturing to a few universities, community organizations and religious institutions; and being interviewed on the international internet for two hours. I know that I reached hundreds of thousands of people around the world, and influenced many of them.

In addition to writing a book, producing various information materials and fliers, developing an advanced website that offer current streaming videos, and producing videos for youtube.com, I prepared a mission statement and a plan on how to achieve it.
Is there any other MRO, political, or social organization that offers anything close?

However, of more importance than the media presence of Men’s Action is its message. We have a message. No one else does. The message does not contain theories either. The message is that humankind is here to grow spiritually, which is best done by involvement in the propagating and preservation of the species. The structure that enables that objective is called patriarchy and is made possible by an understanding of the principle of gender. Simple isn’t it?

One of the principles of gender is that the unseen affects the seen. The unseen is masculine and the seen is feminine. The society that we see is corrupted, degenerating, and imploding. In order to change it an unseen remedy must be applied. That unseen remedy is my message, or idea, or concept. Only the unseen causes change in society. Men’s Action offers that idea and concept. No other organization does.

The next question that arises is “Why hasn’t any large active following been created for the Men’s Action message?” A valid question that is also gender based. The message has to be promoted and implemented. It requires an assertive influence to impregnate society with the idea. An idea does not just come into being. It requires a hard core of fanatics to sell an idea. The disciples were fanatics. Lenin and Trotsky were fanatics. Walter Reuther and the early leaders of the labor movement were fanatics. A hard core of fanatics has to “break the ice” and introduce and propagate an idea.

It could be said that I am not exhibiting enough fanaticism. Possibly. But creators of ideas are usually not the ones who get them implemented. Lenin and Trotsky were little boys when Karl Marx died. Jesus had already left when Paul started spreading the word. I’m looking for men of courage who will pick up my message and run with it. My efforts will be to train and motivate them and supply them with what they need. I am working on a second book that will refine the message of gender and patriarchy and serve as a handbook for my supporters and the few fanatics that will arise from their midst..

Some say the word fanatic is too strong, that I should use believer, disciple, supporter, enthusiast or even zealot. Erick Hoffer in his book The True Believer uses fanatic and I think the term is appropriate. To bring about change requires the willingness to give up one’s life for the cause. That’s what fanatics do. The hard core of American Revolutionaries were fanatics.

While this is an “all hands” message I have decided to post it under Men’s Action News. I want the world to know that I am looking for fanatics. I want it to know that true change cannot be brought about passively, that men of courage must stand up and do what is necessary to change their environment.

I leave it to each man to determine if he is ready to become a fanatic. To those who can’t, which constitute the majority, I ask that you contribute in whatever fashion that you can. BLOGGING OUR MESSAGE

One of our supporters propagates our message through his blog site on www.antimisandry.com. You can access his material by logging on to antimisandry.com and on the top of the home page click Members List. On the members list page click the letter “S” and in that list you will find “Seattle Traditionalist,” the name our supporter prefers to use publicly. Click “Find” next to his name.

He has presented a podcast, video cast, and essay of our message, which cumulatively have already drawn close to 2,500 views. A percentage of viewers will visit our website, a percentage will subscribe, a percentage will order our information materials, and a certain percentage will become supporters. The more views that his efforts generate, the greater the likelihood that we will receive one of the responses just mentioned.

Seattle Traditionalist has only recently become aware of our message and is still familiarizing himself with it, but he has grasped the fundamental principle and does an excellent job of fielding responses to his postings.

Like Seattle Traditionalist, we all have time, talents, and treasure that we can utilize in promoting and supporting Men’s Action and its message. How we do this varies with the nature of our abilities, but we can all make a contribution in some way. Our collective efforts will create the following necessary to implement change.

UPDATE OF ACTIVITIES

I take this opportunity to update activities since the year-end report made last December.

The advancement in our website plus the activities of various supporters has resulted in an increased internet presence. We were fortunate to have my essays appear in Rense.com and savethemales.ca in December and January. My youtube videos now appear on nmatv.com, Bob Park’s growing internet audio and video activity. We have an excellent placement on the honornetwork.com. Steps have been taken to have our message get linked to or appear on other related websites. I have contacted the producer and director of indctrinate-U.com regarding promoting our message. Efforts continue to establish a viable lecture series in the greater New York area.

Our increased internet presence has resulted in an increased level of visitors to our website and an increased level of email from men and women who express further interest. An increasing amount of my time is spent cultivating relationships and developing people who will spread the word through their area of influence.

Part of our growth included forming a corporation last year. I formed the corporation as a vehicle of accountability to supporters, although I feel that it shows the level of thinking in our society that a government vehicle is required to espouse my message in an approved institution of legitimacy. Because our organization is headquartered in NYC three tax returns have to be filed this week, and even though we have no profits to show, the minimum filing in NYC is $300 plus a State fee as well. There are other expenses and professional fees as well. Assistance is needed to pay these expenses.

We have not instituted a membership and dues arrangement, and it is my hope to have this organization run on a voluntary donation basis. Each individual has time, talents, and treasure to contribute according to their ability and status. Some are barely able to scrounge up the money to invest in the information materials and my book but can give time in promoting the message. Others might be able to easily donate $1,000 dollars but are not in a position to give of their time and talents. I ask that you give what you are able to at his time, as there is a severe demand for cash this month. Men’s Action offers a message, which no other organization does. The time for increasing acceptance of our message is at hand; people seek change when they are dissatisfied, and there is no doubt that this nation is becoming increasingly disgruntled. Your support will help to get this message to others. You can now make your donations directly through our website by credit card. The donation button is the last item under my picture on the home page.

EVALUATING THE YEAR

As 2008 draws to a close custom dictates that we look inward and assess how we lived our lives during the past year and to then take vows to live better in the coming year. Inner reflection also helps us to realize that we have much to be thankful for.

In speaking for Men’s Action to Rebuild Society we have much to be thankful for. We incorporated in January and successfully avoided the non-profit designation. Our corporate name is Men’s Action, Inc. although we can also use Men’s Action to Rebuild Society in our activities.

There have not been any profits, and it is not important that we have any as long as we can cover expenses with income; a goal I would like to see achieved next year.

My goal this year was to build a grass roots organization locally. I presented eight lectures in Harlem, and while the turnout was disappointing the lectures did however, provide the vehicle to bring together local supporters who had not met each other.

We made our website more active by adding videos that we posted to youtube.com and then linked them to supporting articles.

On December 4th unbeknownst to me at the time, two websites with large followings linked on to my essay, Depression of Western Women. In the three day period from December 4-7, our website received 65,000 hits of which 10,000 were unique visits from 114 countries. Also, more than a few Emails came in expressing a favorable reader reaction to the essay and a few orders came in for information materials. Additional books were ordered through Amazon.com and our publisher, but I won’t know how many until the first week in April.

We have also gained several supporters as a result of that exposure and I am working with them on a one on one basis to indoctrinate and assist them in promoting our message.

Since that event we have added the ability to order our materials directly from our website. We received our first order even before our financial arrangements were completed with paypal.

I take this time to particularly thank John Dias for all the work he has done to evolve our website in to an advanced cyberspace vehicle. We now have: a direct connection to youtube, streaming video, podcasting, subscriber links, and the opportunity for the direct ordering of the materials that we offer. Even more progress is planned for next year.

Regarding subscriber links, you can now subscribe to A Message from Elder George. By doing so you will automatically be notified when I write a new essay, and I will be saved the effort of sending out an all hands bulletin.

Also, if you choose to order materials for distribution to others or make a donation you can do that as well—it will help us to cover expenses.

I feel that we had a good year. We became more organized, improved our ability to reach others, and have become more known than we were at the start of the year. Also, the continued decline of the moral, mental, physical and spiritual well-being of society continues; it seeks a message. We have one. We can look forward to significant growth next year.

We had a six-week lecture series at the Harlem YMCA, which drew only a few new people to our fold, but it did solidify our supporters many of whom had not met before.

The Harlem lecture series gave me the opportunity to evaluate the local supporters and weed out those who did not in any way become involved in the lectures. A complete lack of contact cannot be interpreted as support, and I have adjusted the rolls accordingly.

I will review our list of national supporters within the week. Besides having the option of offering time, talent, and treasure, there is the opportunity to show interest by referring related issues to me and also sending me Emails or calling to offer moral support. I never had much interest in compiling a mailing list of inactive people. The name of our organization is Men’s Action, and I look for men and women who express action in one form or another.

We have become more active on youtube, and now that I have made some progress on the learning curve I will be making movies on a regular basis.

MORE SPREADING OF THE MESSAGE

In the last message I indicated that we have made seven short movies and posted them on youtube.com. Bob Parks who many of you will remember for his blackandright blogs on mensnewsdaily.com hosts a website at www.nmatv.com and has taken these seven videos and combined them into one movie and posted them on his website. The movie received 100 views in less than four days. Hopefully more of our work will appear on nmatv.com.

Also, a podcast has been made on MGTOW’s (Men Going Their Own Way) website from a presentation I gave on television concerning the Tyrant Mother. I am including the link here and ask that you listen to it. It was very well done by all parties involved and I think you will get a lot out of it.

I have made a series of movies that run about eight minutes in length and posted them on youtube. Through the creative efforts of John Dias these youtube movies automatically get posted on our website. We have an extremely advanced website that makes it easy to disseminate our message to others.

Also, the nature of youtube lets you subscribe to the works of producers of your choosing. I ask that you all subscribe to mensaction on youtube. That way you will automatically receive the movies I post. Complete strangers have started to subscribe to my movies on youtube, so I expect that Men’s Action supporters will do likewise. It’s a free method of disseminating our message.

I posted the essay Love God and Be Kind under a Message From Elder George, which more clearly expresses my views concerning my fellow man, Western thought, and the gender issue. Your comments would be appreciated.

As I am becoming more confident in the process of making movies through my webcam I am posting more on youtube.com and the readership—though miniscule—is rapidly increasing. The classification under “Elder George” gives me the best exposure, as there is less competition.

As part of your efforts to propagate our message you can refer people to our website and our presence on youtube. Also, when reading articles that complain about the family situation you can send the authors responses referring them to our website.

This website determines causes and offers solutions instead of focusing on symptoms and effets.

It gives me pleasure to present you with news of our activities after a long drought.

If you log onto www.youtube.com and search under elder george you will find on the second page two entries from us, one titled introduction to patriarchy, which was my first movie for youtube, and the other titled introduction to patriarchy 2, which I made two days ago. I am planning a series and would appreciate your comments.

The financial crises that Wall Street is experiencing prompted comments by Thurston Bell, which you will find under Member Editorial.

Newsweek ran an article written by elitist writer Sam Harris, attacking Palin, which I responded to with an article posted under A Message From Elder George entitled WHY SWEAT PALIN?.

This evening I will be conducting lecture five of a six lecture series at the Harlem YMCA, and will give you a report of the results after the last lecture on October 1st.

Lastly, on October 3rd I will be interviewed on public access television in Manhattan and will give you the specifics as to when it can be viewed at a later date.

SHIPS WITHOUT A SHORE

The Summer 2008 newsletter of The Women’s Freedom Network contained a review of Anne R. Pierce’s, Ships Without a Shore: America’s Undernurtured Children, a scholarly work of non-fiction that pointed out the lack of nurturing America’s children receive, and the adverse effects it creates among them. I could readily identify with this subject as our message incorporates the importance of family and the proper raising of children, so I sent Ms. Pierce a supportive Email.

In preparing to bring this book to your attention I decided to check into it in further detail. The book is not readily available in New York, so I gleaned through the information that was available such as the flier and reader comments on Amazon.com. Also, the author has a website at shipswithoutashore.com, which I logged on to and read the trailers, sample pages, and listened to a 20 minute radio interview in which she describes the lack of nurturing that American children receive.

Then it hit me.

Not once in all the reviews, commentary, promotion and interviews did I come across the words man, husband, or father. This omission says more about the state of raising our children than does her entire book. Even the word family wasn’t raised except in her reference to single parent families. Ms. Pierce informs us that she has three children, but she makes no reference to their father or her husband.

Here we have the typical western scholarly approach to analyzing a problem including consultations with experts, interviews of parents and children, and the compiling of empirical data, which will then be analyzed and conclusions drawn. No action will be implemented, which is why nothing will change.

There is a conceptual, natural, gender based cause to the issues that Ms. Pierce writes about. Women are designed physically, mentally, and emotionally to nurture the race. It is up to men to provide the environment and means for that nurturing to take place. Women have been removed from the environment that would enable them to properly nurture their children. Government cannot fix the problem—it caused it.

When women stay at home to care for their children, the children will be properly nurtured. Also, in order for a woman to be a good mother it is necessary for her to be a good wife. Part of a child’s nurturing and preparation for adulthood is witnessing the relationship between their parents.

A concern of Ms. Pierce is that women do not want to give up the gains they have made. What gains? The most miserable women on the face of this earth are English speaking white women. You can quote me on that. The number one debilitating illness of the American woman is depression, and the core group consists of middle class, white, single women—especially those with children. They are the ones that promote feminism, independence and all the intellectual slop that goes along with it.

Having said the above, I have a feeling that if I read Ms. Pierce’s book I will go along with her findings, but I don’t need her book to realize the negative conditions in which children are raised; they are the natural outcome of gender ignorance.

This brings me back to The Women’s Freedom Network, an organization whose mission statement includes the following: “It celebrates the achievements women have already made, and it views women's issues in light of a philosophy that defines women and men as individuals and not in terms of gender. It does not set different standards of excellence, morality, or justice for men and women.” There you have it—they do not know the difference between those who have testis and those who have teats—a manifestation of the colossal ignorance of European thought. Their mission statement also indicates that they “seek alternatives to extremist ideological feminism and the anti-feminist traditionalism.” That’s the equivalent of believing that women can be only a little bit pregnant and mostly a virgin. To not know the fundamental gender differences between the sexes IS extremist.

If any of you decide to buy and read Ms. Pierce’s book, I would appreciate receiving your comments.

There are no single parent families. Men make families and all other societal groupings. Without a man, raising children is a hardship—a hardship on the mother, society, and the children.

The enemy has noticed us! Susan Faludi, in her new book The Terror dream, mentions our website on page nine and refers to my comments on 9/11 entitled, The land of the Smoldering Vagina. I don’t now how many people that notation drove to our website, but I did receive comments from one already and she informed me of Faludi’s book. There will undoubtedly be others who will log on to our website as Faludi is a well-known feminist author of the past 20 years. Our presence in the public domain continues to grow.

On another matter, I heard from Marc Roemer and learned more about his adventures n Cost Rica. I include herewith a copy of his correspondence to me.

EG, thank you for the latest article. I have to think more about thequestions you posed. In the meantime I´ve had a few experiences herein Costa Rica that I think you would find interesting.When I went surfing I hired an older American surfer to teach me. He´sliterally been surfing for 40 or 50 years. He´s a good surfer forsure, but not a good teacher! He has a lot of experience surfing butdidn´t teach me much. He mainly just described the details of how hedoes it! But another instructor I talked to one day, a younger CostaRican man, gave me some free advice in just a few sentences that ledme to do exactly what I needed to do. So there´s something going onhere with how men communicate. One tried to tell me exactly what todo, and the other told me generally what to do to get the experience Ineeded to learn the details on my own. Could this apply to Men´sAction? Maybe we need to instruct each other on how to acquire theexperience that will lead us to understand the specifics.This of course would be very different from women, who tend to simplypass on information. I had a discussion with some women on the beachabout Costa Rican Spanish pronunciation. Two women from Spain insistedthat the ll and y are pronounced like the English j only in Argentina.My experience during a total of 3 months here with many differentfamilies indicates otherwise, but when I asked them how they knew,they simply said they know all the variations Spanish pronunciation. Iassume they got their ideas from a book or professor somewhere becauseit couldn´t be from direct experience.The contrast between the gringos and the Ticos (Costa Ricans) here isreally striking. There´s a gringa woman living next door to the largeextended family I´m staying with who runs a hotel and restaurant. Shehas 2 children and drops them off at various neighbor´s houseswhenever she´s busy working. When someone says no she starts crying.Because she has done this so much, essentially the mom of my houseraised the 4-year old, including toilet training. The child now speaksSpanish while her mother only speaks a little. My house mom asked meabout this because she finds it so weird, and she thought that I as agringo could explain. I said it was a picture of the United States andif Costa Rica continues to advance materialism there would be more andmore ¨families¨ like her neighbor, and more and more women who want itall and only want to BE a mother while failing to DO what a mothershould do.

Yesterday I picked up the seal and papers for our corporation, which was drawn in the name Men’s Action, Inc. on January 28, 20008.

This incorporation will lead to a more viable organization with accepted methods of accounting and fiscal conduct. A bank account will be opened in the corporate name this month after which sales and donations will be made and received in the corporate name. These activities are part of our efforts to create a solid foundation upon which to build our membership.

On another matter, I heard from Marc Roemer yesterday who has become comfortable with his adventurous journey to Costa Rica. Below is a copy of his letter in which he describes his first hand observations of a patriarchal way of life and the dangers to it of economic progress.

Hi EG.

Everything’s going great here. I did 2 weeks of Spanish classesand I’ve made some trips to the beach, getting plans in place todayfor another few days of surfing.I’m staying with a traditional CR family in a small village. It’s anextended family of 5 houses all right next to each other. I think it’sgreat for the kids to have other adults in their lives who love them.I wish I had had other options besides my parents when I didn’tunderstand them. I don’t think this lifestyle is going to last muchlonger though, because the next generation will go to college andprobably move to the city where the high paying jobs are. Of course alot of gringoes are helping this process along because by doing thingslike tutoring English to school kids (like I did), required foreducation credentials here. Ironically one English teaching volunteerstaying with the grandmother of the family told me how much she lovesthe family. Failing English is a problem for us to solve, and morefamilies falling apart will be the result, and another problem, whichthe elite don’t know how to solve if they even consider it a problem.Of course people want more stuff, they are as materialistic here as inthe US, but this family has everything it needs, including a womanthey pay to do the ironing, so by my way of thinking I don’t see agreat need for more money. I suppose that’s easy for me to say whileI’m traveling around to places they can’t afford to go to. At the sametime I’m not sure they recognize and appreciate all they’ve got.I spoke to the dad of the family a little about patriarchy, motivatedby my observation that his kids never cry or shout, and they all seemso happy. He doesn’t think that he’s the boss. He actually insistedthat he shares all decisions with his wife (she’s a homemaker andpart-time travel agent). We agreed that feminism and machismo go tofar.I hope you are well. I sort of changed my plans in that I don’t reallywant to work right now. At some point I may look for students to teachprivately but for now I’m simply enjoying myself.

INCORPORATING AND OTHER ACTIVITY

Much has transpired since my last communication and I take this opportunity to bring you abreast of developments.

You see that we now have nine streaming videos. Another 24 are in the hands of our Chief of Internet Operations and are in the process of being converted to digital. We will have three categories of streaming videos. One will be from my public access TV program that ran from 1993 to 2002. The second will be material that has been made since then and the third will be interviews that I participated in. We are looking into the practicality and advantage of getting a webcam .

I have started to podcast again, an activity that I held off on because it takes a fair amount of preparation, and I questioned if anyone listened to it, inasmuch as I received no feed back. Your comments on the podcasting will be appreciated.

In any event, we have an advanced website, which I feel is second to none for its various offerings and I ask that you ask your sphere of influence to visit our website. I will write more on personal contact in A Message from elder George.

We incorporated on January 24, 2008 and had to drop off the Rebuild Society from our name in order to avoid having to register as a non-profit. We can still use our name as before, but the corporation is Men’s Action, Inc.

My thanks to those of you who were able to make a financial contribution to help the business aspect of our organization get started. To those who plan to do so but haven’t done it yet, I ask that you move on it. The above activities take money.

Another area of activity that helps our coffers and our outreach at the same is the distribution of books and booklets. I noticed that the number of hits our website receives is in large measure affected by the number of books and booklets ordered. Written material has a multiple effect because it gets passed on to others. All of our material contains our website and whenever material is distributed website activity increases.

I offer a 5% discount on book purchases of five and a 10% discount on book purchases of 10. The booklets are already discounted 25% to members; that is, they can be obtained for $15/set of five and are subject to the same quantity discounts as the book. These prices include freight and handling. If you can’t make a $100 donation, order five books for $95, or five sets of booklets, or five of each. We do not have dues, so donations and the purchase of materials is our only source of income.

I held a lecture in Harlem last week and after distributing 1500 fliers not one person showed up as a result of those fliers. Everyone who came to the meeting came as a result of personal contact. Again I will go into details of personal contact in a separate message.
While the attendance was poor, one of the attendees invited me to a meeting last night at which I made for more contacts and sold another book. This is an example of personal contact and the networking it produces.

The local colleges have started the spring semester and I plan to find a way to address the students; however, the planet Mercury is retrograde until the 18th of February and I have already seen the effects of the confusion in communications. This is a good time to plan but not to initiate. I’m curious to see if there will be any communications snafus in the primary results on February 5th.

As you can see there has been a lot of activity here at headquarters all of which is aimed at our goal for 2008 of increasing membership. I thank you all for your participation and look forward to your continued efforts to spread our message.
